Growing recommendations for Primula acaulis – Paradiso

The Primula acaulis Paradiso is growing well. Our Paradiso Early growers are currently picking or have finished their picking. Paradiso Mid and Late have been potted for 8-12 weeks now and have been spaced out.
The Primulas need less water now that there is less light and the temperature is dropping. When watering, ensure that the water contains sufficient nutrition (2.0 – 2.5 EC) made up of a compound fertiliser with all the required elements in an N:K ratio of 1: 2 – 1: 3, and that you choose a dry and sunny day on which you water early in the morning so that the plants are dry by night time.
If the humidity level rises above 85%, it may be necessary to set a minimum temperature between 25 and 35 degrees Celsius. In this case, you must also set a minimum vent setting of 5-10%. In any case, make sure that there is sufficient ventilation and that the fans run continuously in calm/dark weather.
Depending on the growth rate, a growth regulator containing propiconazole may be required. It is better to water regularly in small quantities of 20-30 ml/100 litres rather than a lot in one go.

Note: Check the crop carefully for fungi and insects and take appropriate measures in the event of an infection. Ask your crop protection specialist for the correct substances and concentrations.

Growing recommendations Ranunculus – Sprinkles – Sprinkles Dwarf

After potting on, the Sprinkles and Sprinkles Dwarf started growing quickly. In October, we regularly still had temperatures between 15 and 20°C during the day. So far, the night temperature has only dropped below zero degrees Celsius a couple of times. This means that you have regulated the Sprinkels multiple times already. During this phase of growth, this can best be done with daminozide, 150-250 grams per 100 litres of water. Regulate more often with a lower concentration. Make the crops wet, so that the amount of regulator running off the leaves is kept to a minimum.
The days are getting shorter towards the end of the year and the climate can be dark and moist. You only have the occasional opportunity to water and fertilise.
Note: when watering, make sure to add sufficient nutrients (2.0 – 2.5 EC). Use a compound fertiliser containing all the necessary elements in a N:K ratio of 1:2 – 1:3. Water in the morning to ensure that the Sprinkles and Sprinkles Dwarf have dried by nighttime.
Use fans continuously to ensure a good climate. If the humidity exceeds 85%, set the temperature between 25 and 35 degrees Celcius with a 5-10% ventilation to maintain evaporation and to prevent mould.

Note: extra attention for downy mildew!
Regularly check the Sprinkles and Sprinkles Dwarf for mould, specifically downy mildew. Many locations have reported seeing downy mildew in recent weeks. For the right treatments and concentrations please contact your crop protection specialist.
