Sadrach Talahatu
"I look forward to seeing if my selections, hybrids and choices give the results I wish for."
Plants, animals, people, ecology. Initially, Sadrach Talahatu had great difficulties in choosing his field of work. After a research internship at Schoneveld Breeding, the pieces fell into place. “I stood between the plants and realized this was what I wanted. I made a very deliberate choice for plants, thanks to Schoneveld.”

Nienke Heeringa
"This definitetely isn't an office job. This environment, where else do you find it? Every day I have a beautiful view on the greenhouses. A flowering picture."
It was definitely not a done deal for Nienke Heeringa to get to work in the green sector. She did her education in Recreation and Tourism and complemented that during holidays with working in the greenhouses of Schoneveld Breeding. One thing led to another and now she works for over a decade between flowering pot plants. "I got here by coincidence, but there is nothing else I would rather do."

Koen Pelgrom
"I wanted to do research, was really looking for a job where I could set the lines for myself and didn't end behind a desk every day. I found that combination at Schoneveld."
It wouldn't be plant for Koen Pelgrom. His fellow students from the botanical department at his HBO study Larenstein in Velp weren't really his type. So he started with molecular biology. "I took a step back from plants and was totally convinced of that choice. Until the time when I became an intern in plant breeding."

Claudia Menkveld
"The difference with my previous job is huge. At first, I sold the end product. Now I am at the beginning of the production chain."
With an education in horticulture together with over 20 years of working experience in a garden centre, Claudia Menkveld has quite a green thumb. After a moving back from the south of the country, she was looking for a new job in horticulture. "I really much wanted regular working hours, without working on Sundays and still be able to work with plants. As working forewoman at Schoneveld Breeding I found all of that."
